Registered Apprenticeship is “The other four-year degree.”

Registered Apprenticeship, an “earn and learn” strategy, provides technical classroom instruction to complement hands-on experience where you get to put your knowledge into action. It is a career pathway with no student loan debt to worry about. A mentor will guide you one-on-one as you learn your industry, with progressive wage increases as your skills increase throughout the program. Upon completion, you will attain a nationally recognized credential as proof of your completion of a Registered Apprenticeship program and your achievement as a subject matter expert in your occupation.

If you need assistance with supply costs or other supportive services in a Registered Apprenticeship program, you may qualify for assistance through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA).

Currently, there are approximately 60 Registered Apprenticeship programs in various traditional and non-traditional industries; and approximately 3,600 apprentices enrolled in registered programs throughout the State of Louisiana
