On December 30, DOL announced the availability of $98 million in funding to support the development of pre-apprenticeships that lead into Registered Apprenticeship programs in high-demand industries including construction, advanced manufacturing, information technology, and healthcare. Funded through the Department’s YouthBuild Program, the grants will help provide academic support, occupational skills training and employment services to young people, ages 16 to 24, in communities where many youths are not participating in the labor force.
