Acting Secretary of Labor Julie Su said the initiative “builds on the Biden-Harris administration’s strategy to empower workers by promoting pathways to the middle class through this proven earn-as-you-learn model and advances our efforts to expand equitable access to good jobs for historically underserved communities.”
The Apprentice Trailblazer Initiative aims to establish a countrywide community of varied apprentices and graduates from apprenticeships of all ages and backgrounds. The goal is to showcase their experiences and viewpoints, highlight the advantages of Registered Apprenticeships for underrepresented groups, and raise awareness among potential apprentices. Along with the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), Apprentice Trailblazers will participate nationwide to enhance, diversify, modernize, and fortify Registered Apprenticeship programs throughout the United States.
